You cannot build a premium floor on a flawed foundation. If your concrete slab has humps, dips, or is covered in decades-old tile glue and carpet adhesive, any new timber laid on top will eventually squeak, bounce, or fail completely.
As Auckland’s specialist flooring contractors, Endless Flooring utilises heavy-duty, industrial concrete grinders equipped with diamond tooling. We aggressively strip away old coatings and adhesives, grinding the concrete down to a perfectly flat, porous state. This mechanical preparation ensures that your new flooring adhesive will achieve a permanent, structural bond with the slab.
Perfect Adhesion: We open the pores of the concrete, ensuring new glues and moisture barriers can penetrate and bond perfectly.
Sub-Floor Levelling: We grind down high spots and humps in the slab, eliminating the "bounce" or hollow sounds under your new timber floors.
Adhesive Removal: Our diamond tooling effortlessly strips away rock-hard tile glues, carpet adhesives, and old epoxies that standard scrapers can't touch.
Our slab is perfectly flat, but is it dry? Concrete acts like a sponge, drawing moisture from the ground. Before installing timber, ensure your newly ground slab is protected with an E3-approved epoxy moisture barrier.
No. We utilise specialised 99% dust-free extraction systems. Our industrial vacuums are attached directly to the grinding shrouds, capturing the hazardous silica dust at the source before it enters the air in your home.
Yes. While we primarily grind concrete to prepare it for timber installation, we can also perform concrete polishing for modern, industrial-style interiors or specialist garage floors, sealed with highly durable polyurethanes.
Absolutely. If you apply new flooring adhesive over old, brittle tile glue, the new floor will only be as strong as the old glue. When that old glue eventually cracks and releases from the concrete, your brand-new timber floor will pop up with it.
