Yes. While new concrete contains construction moisture that needs to dry, older homes (especially those built before the 1980s) often lack a plastic Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) beneath the slab. This means they will draw moisture from the soil forever.
We never guess. We drill small test holes and insert professional in-situ hygrometers directly into the slab to measure the exact Relative Humidity (RH). If it exceeds the flooring manufacturer's strict limits, a barrier is required.
A premium two-pot epoxy usually takes 12 to 24 hours to fully cure into a solid state, depending on the temperature and humidity in the room. After that, we can immediately begin applying the flooring adhesive.
