in Auckland

Supply and installation of authentic New Zealand native timbers. We lay premium Rimu, Matai, Kauri, and Tawa to give your home a timeless, classic aesthetic.

New Zealand is home to some of the most beautiful and durable timber species in the world. For homeowners renovating heritage villas or building bespoke architectural homes, nothing matches the rich tones and authentic character of a classic native timber floor.

As Auckland’s premium wood floor installation service, Endless Flooring specialises in sourcing and laying traditional native timbers. Whether you want the warm honey tones of Rimu, the robust density of Matai, or the pale elegance of Tawa, our master craftsmen ensure a flawless, tongue-and-groove installation that honours the legacy of the wood and the architecture of your home.

Why Choose Native Timber Flooring?

  • Timeless Heritage Aesthetic: Native species provide a distinct, classic look that perfectly complements both historic villa restorations and modern architectural builds.

  • Incredible Longevity: Many native timbers, particularly heartwood cuts, are exceptionally dense and naturally resistant to wear, often outlasting the building itself.

  • Adding Property Value: A professionally installed, solid native timber floor is a massive selling feature that significantly increases the premium valuation of Auckland homes.

Once your new native timber floor is expertly laid, it requires a flawless finish. Our specialist sanding division will precision-sand the raw boards flat and apply your choice of premium polyurethane or hardwax oil to protect the wood and bring out its natural color.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install native timber directly over a concrete slab?

Yes, but it requires strict sub-floor preparation. We must first grind the slab flat and apply a heavy-duty, E3-approved epoxy moisture barrier. Once sealed, we can use specialist flexible adhesives to glue the solid timber directly to the concrete.

Do I need to let the timber sit in my house before you install it?

Absolutely. This is called "acclimatization." We deliver the timber to your home at least one to two weeks before installation so the wood can adjust to the ambient temperature and humidity of the room, preventing shrinkage and gapping later.

Is it hard to source new native timber in New Zealand?

While highly restricted compared to modern pine or imported oak, we have established relationships with specialist mills that sustainably source premium native timbers for new installations.
